Aeneas Mackay’s career, following graduation from Brown University in 1987 (BA Econ), has been focussed on the financial services sector representing both bulge bracket investment banking and boutique firms.   Following a five year stint at Salomon Brothers in New York and London, Aeneas joined Robert Fleming & Co (1992) as part of a team to execute the $4 billion sale of Wellcome plc shares on behalf of the Wellcome Trust.  He subsequently ran the Equity Syndicate department in New York for Flemings and continued as a capital markets specialist at JP Morgan following the merger of the two firms.

In 2002, Aeneas co-founded a successful boutique corporate finance advisory firm, Montrose Partners LLP, which was particularly active in offering financial advice and raising equity and debt capital for growth businesses predominantly in the energy and technology sectors. Since the sale of Montrose in 2011, he has been running his own financial consultancy business and investing in small cap businesses.

Since 2019, he has been an active working peer in the House of Lords.  He is President of the British Association of Friends of Museums and Chairman of the charity Fashion Minority Alliance.
